Our Massachusetts Licensing (LTC/FID) course is designed to cover the basics of pistol, rifle, and shotgun safety for residents interested in obtaining a License to Carry (LTC) or Firearms Identification (FID) card in the state of Massachusetts. This course includes in-class discussion as well as hands-on experience where students will have the opportunity to handle a variety of pistols, rifles, and shotguns in the classroom. We will also cover the fundamental knowledge and approach to handling, operating, possessing, storing, and transporting a firearm safely and in accordance with state and federal firearms laws.
Upon completing the Massachusetts Licensing (LTC/FID) course, students will receive the Massachusetts Basic Firearms Safety (BFS) certification, which is required to apply for an LTC/FID license in Massachusetts, and the Home Firearm Safety certification from the National Rifle Association (NRA). Our students will also leave with a copy of the Patriot Firearms School law packet that covers the Massachusetts licensing structure, MA state and federal laws, proper storage and transportation of firearms, a Massachusetts application, and a list of resources to useful web sites and groups.

- Must be 14 or older (for FID)
- Must be 21 or older (for LTC)
- Cannot have a felony on your record
- Must not have a history of being admitted to a health facility
- Must not have an alcohol-related offense after 2004
- Must be a US citizen

We ask that our students arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the class start time. Our in-class sessions are held at 51 Winthrop St. Unit 1 in Rehoboth.
My husband and I took this class together, it totally met all our expectations, the class size was small , bill was very thorough while he explained everything
I was a little nervous handling the firearms for the first time but bill took the time to guide and help me every step.
I have a 5 star because it was an excellent class, and very convenient to my home. the range was closer so I liked that too! I am considering taking another class
from them in the future. highly recommend for anyone looking to get their LTC.

Patriot Firearms School goes above and beyond in their classes. I was able to take my mom and sister in-law to the "MASSACHUSETTS LICENSING (LTC/FID) COURSE" and was beyond thrilled at the experience. I left feeling comfortable and confident handling firearms. Brenna and Bill were extremely knowledgeable and encouraging through the whole experience. Do not skip on the live fire aspect of the class, they give you the time and space to get comfortable.
An excellent experience I would highly recommend Patriots Firearms school . The instructor Brenna was phenomenal very engaging and informative. All of my communications with Bill prior to the class were answered immediately and he even took the time to call me. I was nervous to take the class but Brenna put all of us at ease with her calm demeanor. So worth the cost of the class , the experience was very enlightening and was a lot of fun. I learned so much useful information . I will definitely take the defense class and look forward to some one on one on the range when that becomes available.
